jim is the lead singer and guitarist for the picts. he is also the primary songwriter. he has a b.a. in philosophy and english literature. he is one semester away from completing a masters degree in english where the emphasis of his studies is in linguistics. he is contemplating a ph.d. in philosophy with plans on specializing in philosophy of science, particularly philosophy of evolutionary biology. you can find his online journal here.
